New Year, New Goals! This is what we do every year at this time. 2011 had its downs with the Google Panda updates. This was probably the worst of any Google updates in many years. The ups has been Bing and Social Media. There is one we are still waiting for and that is Google plus. From what I can tell the have over 400 million users, not bad for just starting out this year.

Some of my predictions 2012.

Search Engines: We make up some of the losses from the Google Panda update.

Social Media : The big 5 or 6 will thrive and the rest will start to weed out.

SEO : There still is a great desire for it.

SOPA : Will die. Sony Music, Time Warner, Walmart, Apple and CBS – other companies that back SOPA are also facing boycott.

Wireless : The intro of the new wireless standard will improve watching video movies at home.

Those are some of my 2012 predictions.

If you have heard a few years ago SEO was dead. But when I talked to website owners the first thing they want to talk about is what can I do for my site to rank higher in the search engines. SEO is not an overnight fix, it is an ongoing process that needs to be used all the time. Over a period of time your website takes hold of all the search engines have to offer a business.

Using digital media to the max

With unrest in Egypt, the protesters were cutoff from the internet and of all things Twitter. Where they could twitter what was happening to them. Digital Media working at its finest at a time of great strife for the country of Egypt. So when the internet got cut off, Google stepped in and enabled a phone call to twitter fix. The Egyptian twitters would call in on an phone leave their twitter message and the system would turn and post the message on the twitter account for them with out use of the Internet. Old tech and new technology working together for the good of getting information out to the masses. Has anyone checked to see if Hell has frozen over. Thought I would check.

The access to send out twitter messages enable the outside world the get a glimpse of what was happening in their country. It is seeming like digital technology like Twitter is now a given right to have and use during any kind of major catastrophic events. But they do not allow players to use during football games. Where our our priorities.

It seems every Month is different from the next. But the one common action that works the best is Internet Marketing. I am still find information and links that are four and five years old or older from past actions. The one thing that you can do wrong with your website is to do nothing after you build it. What worked in Internet Marketing a few years ago will not give the same results today. Today there are more tools and new avenues to market a website. The stage has changed to Digital Media.

You might have noticed that Digital Media changing the way we communicate with each other. Examples are Facebook and Twitter. These are two prime candidates to incorporate into your Internet marketing along with rest of tools.

Generating leads has changed with the fact of email form can get tons of spam email when you are looking for potential business leads. Some clients are just using the phone to do business not just email leads. There is a higher of lead closure when talking to potential clients over the phone than corresponding with potential clients via email.

Some Clients are having me remove the email contact forms from their websites in order to stop spam and to work with only business leads. How you want to accept and handle your incoming sales leads is your choice. Internet Marketing is what will drive the leads to your website.
